Pastor Don spent most of his life in Ohio before coming to West Virginia. He attended Baptist Bible College in Springfield, MO, where he met and married Debbie more than 35 years ago. While in college he earned a degree in music before completing his BA in Bible at Temple Baptist College, Cincinnati, OH, and then his Master's in Bible from Trinity Theological Seminary in Newburg, IN.

Pastor Don and Debbie were blessed with three children: LaVonda, Nathan, and Darrin. His oldest son, Nathan, serves with him at New Hope Church, while his youngest son, Darrin, is a youth pastor in Lewisburg, WV. Pastor Don and Debbie have three grandsons and one grand-daughter that get much love and attention from "Nana," and "Pop."

Pastor Don enjoys being a shepherd to the flock God has given him. He spends much time praying, studying, and preaching/teaching. He also enjoys spending as much time as possible with the people of New Hope outside of the church setting. He is always ready to visit with family's going through a tough time or someone that needs his help.

When not ministering you will find Pastor Don on the golf course trying to get through a round with just one golf ball, or you will find him at the Daily Grind enjoying a cup of coffee and a good book. He also spends time watching his favorite sports when he can. Debbie spends her time leading the women's ministry of the church, doing administrative things, and also enjoys quilting, and reading.
