Bold Claims – Cowardly Actions – God’s Grace

Start with prayer.
Praise God for his beautiful creation and for the relationships that you have.
Confess your sins to God and thank him for his forgiveness.
Ask him to help you focus during this time.

Read John 14:36-38.
Jesus says “Where I am going you cannot follow.” v.33 + 36
What was he talking about?
Think about Peter’s bold claim and then the prediction from Jesus.
He claimed that he would die for Jesus but denied knowing Jesus three times to a little girl.
How often do our actions not follow our bold claims?
We should be ashamed of ourselves because our cowardly actions don’t match our bold claims.
Now read 14:1. There is great grace and peace found in that verse.

End with prayer.
Thank Jesus for going where you could not and would not go; to the cross.
Ask God to help you live boldly for him and not yourself or the world.
Pray for the person you know that does not believe in Jesus.
Pray for the next person or family in the church directory.

What happened after Judas took the morsel? What does this tell us about Judas salvation?
What is the last sentence in this passage at the end of v.30?
Nighttime is always a symbol of evil and deception in John. Remember Nicodemus came at night? John 1:5?

How many times does Jesus connect himself with the father in this passage?
What point is Jesus trying to make to the crowd by making that connection?
We are bombarded by information today and its hard to tell what is a reliable source and what isn’t anymore.
Jesus was claiming to be part of the Godhead, The Trinity. That is the most reliable source we can imagine.
You can bet the bank on Jesus radical claims because he is part of the eternal trinity.
Don’t just buy into another religious system or the latest medical craze they are not reliable sources. They are foundations made of sand and will blow away at the slightest bit of wind.
Give your life to God The Father, Son and Holy Spirit. That is a foundation made of stone that will stand the test of time.
Trust in The Trinity. Find peace in The Trinity. Find direction from The Trinity.

End with prayer.
Thank God for this passage and for helping you realize that you are trusting in God The Trinity not just another religion.
