Solemn Rest is Commanded by God

Start with prayer.
Praise God for his law; his words of life.
Confess your law-breaking to God and ask him to help you live his laws.
Ask him to help you focus during this time.
Read Exodus 16:19-30.
What was the first direction that Israel did NOT follow? v.20
What was the second direction that Israel did NOT follow? v.27
What does God tell them in v.28 as a result of their disobedience?
What was so amazing about the amount of food God provided on the 6th day?
Later in Exodus 20 God gives the 10 commandments and observing the Sabbath day comes in at #4.
After Christ rose from the dead on day one of the week, Christians began to worship on what we call “The Lord’s Day”.
Many see Sunday as the “Christian Sabbath” but many still hold to observing a day of rest on Saturday.
It is important to make Sunday all about God which should include doing God’s work.
It is also important to have a day of rest every week. Take a break from your daily grind. God commands you to.
Combining these two on Sunday is the easiest way to do this but they don’t have to be the same day.
End with prayer.
Repent of your sin of not taking a weekly day of rest and making Sundays all about God.
Ask him to help you improve on this and make this a priority.
Pray for the person you know that does not have faith in Jesus.
Pray for the next person or family in the church directory.
